I integrate my evidence based psychological training with many years of experience in meditation practice and teaching of meditation and personal development work. I have a warm and collaborative approach that facilitates self-discovery and personal growth in a safe, supportive, and down to earth atmosphere. My sense of humour helps keep perspective in difficult times.
I am registered with the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. and have 17 years of experience working with adults who are experiencing anxiety and depression, stress, low self-esteem, the effects of trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and with those wanting to engage in a personal growth process.
I employ methods that help develop awareness or “mindfulness” and self-compassion to effectively facilitate change. I help you draw on skills and qualities that you may have developed through your life or learn new skills to help manage emotions differently and achieve a meaningful life. I draw from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness based and Somatic Psychotherapies, grief and loss counselling, meditation, and relaxation to find an appropriate fit for each client. I ask you to integrate new skills, habits, and mindful awareness between sessions.
I have worked mainly in private practice, EAP’s (Employee Assistance Programs) counselling people in workplaces and delivering seminars on resilience and related topics, and have run meditation and personal growth courses. I am currently completing a PhD at the University of Western Sydney on a psychotherapy related topic. I have travelled extensively, lived in 6 different countries, and have enjoyed worked with people of different cultures. Prior to working as a psychologist, I worked in media industries.
I hope to help you get back on track through effective tools and techniques, expert guidance, and re-orientating to your own “inner compass”.
