TELEHEALTH PSYCHOLOGY

THERAPY THAT COMES TO YOU

What is Telehealth Psychology?

Telehealth Psychology is conducted using video conferencing technology. Research has found online based therapies or Telehealth Psychology can be as effective as face to face therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns.  Telehealth Psychology is also more convenient and gives the person seeking therapy control over when and where they access their Psychologist. It’s like having a Psychologist come to your own home or office.

COVID-19 – Medicare Funding For Telehealth Psychology

All Australians can now access Medicare funding for PsychHelp Telehealth Psychology. PsychHelp is excited to announce that comprehensive Telehealth psychological services are now available through Medicare for all Australians.  Medicare has just announced it will be covering 10 Telehealth or video psychology consultations until the 30th September 2020 as part of their COVID-19 response. To see a PsychHelp Psychologist you will need to provide us with a Mental Health Care Plan which can be easily obtained over the phone from your GP. Rural and Remote Australians – Medicare Funding for Telehealth Psychology

Australians in rural and remote areas are eligible for 10 Telehealth sessions.  The Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists welcomed the news that rural and remote communities can access Telehealth Psychologists in 2018 after advocating for this change to decrease the barriers to treatment that people in rural areas face. Please see the APS information sheet for more details of this new policy.

Turnbull announces immediate cash payments for drought stricken farmers

Struggling farmers get mental health boost

This is great news for farmers in Australia who are experiencing one of the worst droughts in living history.   At difficult times such as these farmers are having to work longer hours and are experiencing greater financial pressure which can lead to a deterioration in mental health.  People who live in rural communities have a 50% higher suicide rate than that of people who live in cities.  The Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health suggests this higher rate is due in part to the lack of available services.  PsychHelp has been set up to bring psychologists to you in your own home or office.  If you would like to see a PsychHelp psychologist, please make an appointment today.

Telehealth Psychology

for YOUR life

in YOUR time

Telehealth therapy is a way for you to receive a valuable service in a different format, one that better suits your needs and your situation.

It takes the technology we use everyday and puts it to use in a way that’s beneficial to your life, in the moment that suits you best.

One in five Australians struggle with mental illness but less than half seek treatment, according to the National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing. There are millions of people that could benefit from therapy but don’t seek the help they need because traditional therapy doesn’t adapt to their unique situation.

PsychHelp is here to change that.
