Clinical Psychologist (BSc(Psychology), MAClinPsych)
I am a warm, compassionate and open-hearted Clinical Psychologist. I believe in creating a collaborative, sustainable relationship with each of my clients in order to help you overcome your struggles and create a rich, full, meaningful life. I work to create a space where my clients can feel safe and at ease to open up and fully engage in the therapeutic process. During my time in private practice I have become passionate about excellent client care and I focus on educating individuals about the journey through therapy and commitment to treatment to gain long lasting outcomes and prevent future relapse.
I have experience in both private practice and working within psychiatric hospital settings (inpatient and outpatient) with adolescents, adults and families. I currently only work within the private practice setting with clients individually. I work with a broad range of issues including anxiety and panic attacks, stress management, trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and mood difficulties, family issues, relationship difficulties and interpersonal issues, assertiveness and communication, perfectionism, identity development, adjustment to life events and changes, anger management, female sexual issues, complex issues, exploration of spirituality, unblocking creativity, self-esteem and self-confidence issues, and sexuality.
I work within a broad range of therapeutic models depending on your situation and I draw from various treatment models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT; for PTSD and complex trauma), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based approaches. I also incorporate Attachment Theory, Systemic Family Therapy and psychodynamic models in my clinical work. Each treatment provided is individualised to best support the unique needs of each client and is flexibly adapted to the unique needs and values of each person.
