I have a warm, genuine and non-judgmental therapeutic style. This allows me to provide a safe space within which my clients can build the self-understanding and self-compassion needed to make real and meaningful changes in their lives. I collaborate with clients to learn, practice, and hone the skills they need to better cope with life challenges, free themselves from self-defeating patterns, accept and tolerate difficult emotions and improve the quality of their interpersonal relationships.
I have experience working in private practice with individuals across the lifespan including children, adolescents, and adults from varied backgrounds. I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed time spent consulting with residents in aged care to support mental health outcomes. I am currently working towards endorsement in Clinical Psychology to improve my understanding of a range of mental health diagnoses and to deliver the most current and evidence-based treatments.
I understand that no single approach fits for everyone and maintain an open mind in applying current psychological knowledge to assist individuals in their life journeys. Treatment modalities I currently apply include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Self-Compassion therapy. I provide therapeutic support for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, interpersonal distress, adjustment, grief, trauma, self-esteem, and body image issues.
