Tyrone Huckstepp

Clinical Psychologist (MPsych(Clin), BSocSc(Psych)(Hons), BNut)

I endeavour to create a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment for my clients. I am passionate about helping adults with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. My primary focus areas are sleeping problems, anxiety, depression, disordered eating patterns, weight management, stress, negative-self talk, and low self-esteem.

I use a range of best practice therapeutic approaches supported by the latest research, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia, CBT-Enhanced (for eating disorder), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I work primarily from an attachment and emotional-focused framework and encourage my clients to work collaboratively and take an active role in their therapeutic journey.

I am a endorsed clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I hold dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and nutrition, and a master’s degree in clinical psychology. I am also a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician awarded by Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.

I have published several academic articles, mostly focusing on the relationship between eating disorder symptoms and positive core beliefs, which you can find below.
